  • Capabilities

The SGM beamline is capable of performing X-ray absorption spectroscopic measurements using transmission, photon in - photon out and photo in - electron out detection. Both UHV and ambient pressure sample conditions are available in two endstation areas. Liquid samples can be measured in a flow cell in the ambient pressure endstation. The beamspot can be focused to 10 x 10 microns in the ambient pressure endstation allowing for microXANES or soft x-ray mapping.  The energy range of the beamline is 250 to 2000 eV.

  • Endstations

The SGM beamline has two, in-line endstation areas.  Endstation Area 1 (EA1) is built for performing bulk x-ray absorption and x-ray photoemission studies under UHV conditions.  Endstation Area 2 (EA2) is primarily used for micro-focused x-ray absorption and fluorescence mapping experiments under either ambient pressure or HV conditions.
